Wishful Thinking

I'm an avid wishful thinker.  I love searching on the internet for lovely little items, and then wishing they were mine.  And then I dream up a scenario of me with that item, happy and loving life.  And then I come back to reality.

...Oh, the woes of a broke student.

Here are some current items that I wish were in my possession:

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick Collection.  Pigmented, unique, and only $16 a tube.  Drool.

What Katie Did L6036 CC09 vintage-inspired bra.  For the perfect 40s silhouette.

This gorgeous dress I found in HolliePoint's shop on Etsy...for only $88.

This is simply gorgeous.  It's as simple as that. Find it here.

On the plus side....my birthday is on Friday...and I smell a leopard 60s car coat coming my way (if my hints got through to the parents...)

Back To School Shopping.

Well, my summer hasn't been much of a break.  I've been working far too much to relax. Or blog.  But that's okay!  I head back to school to kick off my senior year (one more year until I'm OUT of here. weird thought)  on the 24th, so its about time I get some new clothes, right?

My first purchase was this lovely skirt from Ulrika at the Freelancer's Fashionblog!  Isn't it beautiful?  She sold it quite cheap, too.  I highly recommend checking out her blog and her auction blog, if you haven't yet.

And now I have some money sitting in my checking account for clothes, but I am too afraid to buy anything.  Why?  Because I want good, cute, vintage/vintage inspired clothing.  And I know that there might not be much to buy from around where I live, so I must turn to the internet.  And I'm absolutely terrified of shopping online, simply because I have no idea how it will end up looking on somebody who isn't the size 2 model.    And I know I can always return it, but still.

I guess I'll have to conquer my fears if I want a cute closet:)

Domestic Sunday

Today was a cozy day. I think it all started because I woke up frozen...really. You see, it was raining last night, so I opened my window and slept with it open to hear the rain. Little did I know, Ohio decided that it would snow in the morning. Therefore I woke up like an ice cube, and decided it was a cozy winter day.

So what did I do? I baked scones, of course!
(blurry picture...maybe someday I will get better at taking photos)
Well...the recipe made a whopping five scones. So I made another batch!

And then I snapped a quick picture of myself (wearing my cute vintage-inspired apron that my mother put in the washer and now it's all funny-looking..you can't really see it in the picture)

and finally....

Yum, yum!!! They were really good with blackberry jam! I got mine homemade from a cute vintage/antique store in Powell called the Blackberry Patch. If you're in the Columbus, Ohio area, I highly suggest checking them out:)

And now I'm about to head off to see Beastly with my sister! I really hope it's good...I feel like I'm either going to love it, or hate it. We'll see!

Snowpocolypse!

I tried an updo inspired by this post by the lovely Ulrika of The Freelancer's Fashionblog

There is the hairstyle (and me, about ready to brave the icy Ohio mess outside)

The back. It's a little messy, but I was not willing to redo it for the sake of perfection.

and finally, with earmuffs! Warm ears, matching scarf, and I'm ready to go!

and I guess this is my post about me conquering snow.  How enthralling.
